Linux Tag 2006 - Wiesbaden

A yearly visit to Linux Tag (this year in Wiesbaden, Germany).

My impressions? Mmmm… interesting… but not like last year.

The location was more small then 2005 edition, with a lot of differences:

  • during 2005 there were much more lectures;
  • during 2005 there were much more expositors;
  • during 2005 there were much more interesting expositors;
  • during 2005 there were much more space for comunity area.

I think there are some coincidences with LinuxWorldSummit 2006 (Italy version)… strange same downsizing…

Like any other years, the Germany location is wonderful! Small town (not so smal, actually…) with a lot of green park and pedestrian areas… A very great place for a walk in the park!

I’ve got to thanks the “Flight Gear” team for suggestions and tips about flight rules. They prepared a three-monitors for simulations with joystikck and pedal keys, as well as germany locations with real flight-maps! Very, very, very amusing!!!

They also showed me the new features of Flight Gear (not in nightly build yet), like server component to display the aircrafts position on google maps!
